Discussions regarding the sideloading process in mobile operating systems have gained great importance recently. While Android has allowed installing apps from third-party stores for years, Apple opposes sideloading on iOS for security reasons. However, Google CEO Sundar Pichai finally joined the discussion.

Google CEO warned Android users against the risk of sideloading!

Google CEO advised Android users not to install applications on their devices by sideloading. CEO Pichai made important comments about Android in the ongoing antitrust case between the USA and Google.

In his statement on the subject, CEO Pichai said, “We do not want to let you completely jeopardize your phone. You may install malware on your phone. “It could really compromise your safety in a very significant way,” he said.

The Google CEO also reiterated Apple’s main concern about not allowing sideloading. Installing applications from unofficial sources increases the risk of malware being installed on phones. Experts have long pointed out the dangers of downloading applications from stores that have not been checked for security.

CEO Pichai underlined that installing applications from outside the Play Store will always be allowed on Android. However, he advised Android users not to sideload. Pichai suggested that the average user may not understand the security risks of the APK.

This situation in Android has actually been a dilemma for years. Although it provides flexibility to users, it can lead to major security breaches if an application is installed carelessly.
